Wrist Group, Aalborg, Denmark

Wrist Group is one of Denmarks largest companies, servicing the shipping industry worldwide. From bunkering fuel and supplies, to storage of goods and spare parts, the company offers the majority of services that a shipping company might require in port.

Maritime look for a maritime company

With Wrist Group due to move to new offices, four companies were invited to submit proposals for their interior design. The basic premise was to present an economically balanced proposal in which the existing furniture would be used to the greatest possible extent.
Happily, EFG Bondo was awarded the job. Not only was the price right, we won it on our broad range and our proposal for the interior design!

A mix, but apart

Naturally, our proposal took the existing furniture into account. But as advisors, we also opened a dialogue along the lines New office, time for change and new ideas.
The outcome was that we were to avoid mixing old and new furniture with one exception: 80 percent of the existing office chairs would be re-used. Otherwise, workstations, as well as meeting rooms, would have new furnishings.

Maritime metaphor at the core

Our interior designer, Sten Gudumkjr, proposed a unifying design theme, based on the companys history and business, A maritime metaphor in a timeless and modern design.

On scope and choosing furniture

Our assignment included furnishing 300 workstations and a number of meeting areas, ranging in size from small to large. Each workstation consists of an Aura desk featuring a black, sound-absorbing linoleum surface; two units from our EFG Storage range, and one office chair usually re-used.
Communal areas are chiefly furnished with items from our partners, such as Four Design in the meeting areas and lunchrooms, and Republic of Fritz Hansen in the lounge.
